In the world of curling, where sportsmanship, respect, and inclusivity are highly prized virtues, one outstanding young athlete from our Goldline Curling Calgary team has shone bright as a beacon of these values. We are thrilled to announce that our very own Tyler Powell, hailing from Calgary’s Acadia Recreation Complex, has been recognized as one of the recipients of the prestigious Fran Todd All Heart Award Curler program.

Tyler’s dedication to fair play, respect for fellow competitors, and a deep passion for fostering inclusivity within the curling community have set him apart as a role model for aspiring athletes. He is a true embodiment of the values that curling holds dear and a dedicated builder of the sport’s future in Canada.

This esteemed honour comes with a $2,500 award, which will be allocated to Tyler as a $1,000 curling-related personal expense reimbursement and a $1,500 contribution to their curling centre for operational costs related to their program. This financial support will undoubtedly help Tyler further enrich the curling experience for everyone involved, including his work with the Centre for Newcomers Calgary to provide a five-week intro to curling program to new Canadians and Ukrainian refugees ages 10-18.

As part of the Goldline Curling family, we couldn’t be prouder of Tyler’s achievement and his continued dedication to the sport. This recognition is not only a testament to his skills on the ice but also to his character, sportsmanship, and vision for a more inclusive and vibrant curling community.

Congratulations, Tyler Powell, on being a Fran Todd All Heart Award recipient. Your accomplishments reflect the very essence of curling, and we can’t wait to see how your inclusivity program will impact the future of this beloved sport. 🥌🇨🇦
