If you’re looking at your broom head wondering, “Wait… is this approved?” you’re not alone.

Rules have changed, names have changed, and some products from the same line aren’t approved when used together. We know it’s confusing, so here’s the simple version.

If You Use Goldline

World Curling-approved Goldline options include:

If you use an Impact Pro Sleeve, pair it with the white Pulsar Foam.

Pulsar = YES ✅
Evader = NO ❌

If the stamp inside your foam says Evader, it is not approved for World Curling competition.

If You Use Hardline

For a Hardline IcePad, use a Maxim Sleeve + white Pura Foam.

Pura is the foam previously called Recreational Foam. It’s white, not beige.

And yes, we know this part is confusing:

Maxim Sleeve + Pura Foam = APPROVED ✅
Maxim Sleeve + Maxim Foam = NOT APPROVED ❌

World Curling maintains the official list of equipment approved for competition:

Look for the approval code printed directly on the sleeve or fabric of your pad, not the foam. If your sleeve or pad doesn’t have an approval code, it isn’t approved.

  • Goldline codes start with G
  • Hardline codes start with H

The code confirms the sleeve or pad, but remember: the foam you pair it with still matters.
