At first glance, men’s curling pants can all start to look a little similar.

Black. Stretchy. Made for the ice.

But once you actually compare them, the differences are pretty noticeable.

Some are built more like a traditional curling trouser. Some feel much more athletic. Some are lighter. Some are warmer. And depending on how you move, how hot you run, and what kind of fit you like, one style may make a lot more sense for you than another.

So instead of asking, “Which pant is best?” it might be more useful to ask:

“What kind of curler am I?”

If You Want a Classic Curling Pant: Goldline Agility 3

The Goldline Agility 3 is probably the most familiar-looking option in the group.

It has a traditional trouser-style design with belt loops, five pockets, an unlined construction, and a clean straight-leg fit. It sits right in that comfortable middle ground in terms of weight, not especially light, not heavy. A built-in gusset adds extra room through the crotch for improved comfort and flexibility, especially when getting into a deep slide.

The Agility 3 also has a generous inseam, including extra material in the hem that can be let out if additional length is needed.

This is a great choice if you want something that looks traditional but is still made to move with you through a slide.

Think: classic curling pant, updated.

If You Live in Athletic Wear: Goldline Axyon

The Goldline Axyon goes in a completely different direction.

This is the most performance-focused and athletic-feeling option of the four.

It is lightweight, very stretchy, and designed more like a jogger than a traditional trouser. It has an elastic waistband with a drawstring, belt loops, elastic at the ankles, and six pockets.

The fit is intentionally more relaxed through the upper leg before tapering significantly toward the ankle.

This pant was particularly designed for training or curlers who want maximum freedom of movement.

Basically, if you’d happily wear joggers everywhere else in your life, the Axyon is probably going to make sense to you.

If You Like a Traditional Hardline Fit: Hardline Slim Fit

The Hardline Slim Fit is another classic-looking curling pant, but with its own Hardline fit and feel.

It uses a standard-weight fabric with belt loops, an elasticized waistband, and a straight leg. And despite the name “Slim Fit,” it isn’t an aggressively skinny or tapered pant. A built-in gusset adds extra room through the crotch for improved comfort and flexibility, especially when getting into a deep slide.

When we compared the different styles, this one stood out as a really solid standard-weight curling pant, the kind of option that doesn’t feel too light or too heavy.

It’s straightforward, comfortable, and familiar.

If your answer to “What kind of pant do you want?” is basically “Just give me a good curling pant,” this is a strong place to start.

If You’re Always Cold: Hardline Jeans Style H2 Lined Pants

Then there’s the Hardline H2.

The biggest difference here is warmth.

The H2 has a light fleece lining, so it gives you some added insulation compared with the other styles without feeling like a bulky winter pant.

It also has a stretchy waistband, belt loops, and a wider straight-leg shape.

This can be especially useful if you spend more time standing in the house, play in a colder club, or just naturally run cold.

What feels perfect for one curler can feel too warm for another, especially depending on whether you’re sweeping constantly or spending more time stationary.

The Fastest Way to Choose

If you don’t want to overthink it:

Agility 3 = classic all-around curling trouser with a comfort-enhancing gusset

Axyon = lightweight, performance-focused, athletic jogger

Hardline Slim Fit = traditional Hardline trouser with a gusset for added comfort and flexibility

Hardline H2 = traditional fit with a little extra warmth

That’s really the biggest difference between them.

It isn’t that one is better than the others. They’re just designed for different preferences.

Don’t Forget About Length

Length works a little differently depending on which pant you choose.

Hardline pants tend to have a more generous inseam, which gives you room to have them hemmed to the right length.

The Goldline Agility 3 is designed a little differently. It includes extra material in the hem, so if you need additional length, it can be let out.

The Goldline Axyon is meant to have a sportier, more athletic look, with a tapered elastic cuff at the ankle — so it’s not designed to fit or hang like a traditional curling trouser.

In other words, don’t judge all three styles by the same length rules. The fit at the ankle is part of what makes each one different.

So… Which One Are You?

If you like traditional: Agility 3 or Hardline Slim Fit.

If you want athletic and performance-focused: Axyon.

If warmth is one of your biggest priorities: H2.

At the end of the day, the right curling pant is the one that feels comfortable, moves the way you want it to, and suits the way you play.

Because once you stop thinking of them as “four pairs of black pants” and start looking at fit, warmth, and feel, the choice gets a whole lot easier.
