About the Role

Goldline is looking for a dynamic, hands-on Assistant Warehouse Manager to lead daily floor operations and team productivity at our Mississauga distribution facility. In this role, you will step onto the floor as a collaborative leader, directly supervising a core team of four full-time Warehouse Associates alongside a fluctuating seasonal workforce.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will act as the primary driver of daily floor execution (receiving, fulfillment, and inventory control) while fostering a safe, organized, and welcoming team culture.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Floor Coordination

  • Coordinate daily workflows, schedule labor, and actively mentor the team.
  • Balance active floor support (jumping in to pick, pack, or receive when needed) with high-level oversight to ensure broad floor coordination is never lost.

Inventory Control & Optimization

  • Optimize warehouse layout and pick locations, lead regular cycle counts, and manage stock accuracy within our systems.
  • Assist with logistics for our busy Events Team.

Daily Operations & Problem-Solving

  • Proactively resolve daily bottlenecks such as carrier delays or seasonal volume spikes.
  • Organize and prioritize time-sensitive orders, assign tasks to balance workload equity, and troubleshoot problems with warehouse systems and equipment.

Safety & Community Engagement

  • Model and promote a proactive health and safety culture across the team.
  • Ensure the safe operation of power equipment, uphold provincial compliance standards, and maintain high standards of warehouse organization and housekeeping.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience & Education

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment, including at least 2 years of direct supervisory experience motivating and scheduling teams.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Leadership, Supply Chain, Logistics (or a related field), or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Systems, Tech & Equipment

  • Systems & Tech: Hands-on experience with modern Warehouse and Transport Management Systems. Specific experience with NetSuite, RF-SMART, and ShipHawk would be an asset. Comfortable troubleshooting basic hardware issues (scanners and shipping printers).
  • Equipment & Licensing: Current certification on power lift equipment (specifically a Raymond Reach Truck), or the ability to quickly obtain it. Must hold a valid Ontario Class G driverโ€™s licence in good standing.
  • Retail/Customer Focus: Experience in a retail or highly customer-centric environment is a strong asset.

Key Skills for Success

  • People-First Leadership: A patient, calm demeanor with a proven ability to mentor a diverse team, de-escalate conflicts, and build a collaborative workplace.
  • Aptitude for Detail: Strong visual memory for learning complex product catalogs, SKUs, and coding systems.
  • Adaptive Problem Solver: A strong growth mindset with the ability to prioritize and multitask calmly during seasonal volume spikes.
  • Physical Demands: Capable of safely standing for extended periods, operating machinery, and lifting or moving merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Inclusive Mindset: A strong commitment to supporting a healthy, welcoming workplace community that actively embraces equity, diversity, and inclusion.
