Mississauga, Jan. 13, 2025 – Goldline Curling, a long-standing advocate for fair play and integrity in curling, is proud to announce that its initiative to address recent sweeping technology controversies has garnered broad support from top players, teams, and even competing equipment manufacturers.
Since the release of Goldline’s Pursuer foam, the company has consistently voiced concerns about the unintended performance impacts of this new foam technology and the urgent need for updated, transparent equipment standards. In collaboration with many of the sport’s leading stakeholders, Goldline has helped draft a unified statement calling for immediate action to preserve fairness and ensure a level playing field.
“This is about more than just equipment, it’s about maintaining the core values of curling,” said Pete Townshend, CEO of Goldline Curling. “We are encouraged by the overwhelming support we’ve received from players, teams, and even our competitors, and we remain committed to advocating for World Curling to create long-term solutions that safeguard the integrity of our sport.”
The unified statement, endorsed by over 20 high performance teams and several leading equipment manufacturers, outlines a clear plan of action, including interim solutions for upcoming events and a long-term roadmap for updated regulations. Goldline Curling is particularly proud of the collaborative effort from all parties involved and looks forward to continued dialogue with World Curling to implement meaningful change.
