The Grand Slam of Curling season is rolling on, and next up is the Co-op Canadian Open at the Silent Ice Center in Nisku, Alberta, from November 5-10. This event promises six days of high-stakes competition featuring the world’s best curlers battling for their place in curling history.
Event Overview
The Co-op Canadian Open is the second Grand Slam event of the season. It brings together 16 of the top men’s and 16 of the top women’s teams. Each team will play four games in a round-robin format, with the top eight in each division advancing to the playoffs. If there are any ties, a tiebreaker will determine which teams continue on their journey toward the title.
Team Homan: The Reigning Champions
Goldline Curling is proud to support four teams competing in this year’s Co-op Canadian Open: Team Carey, Team Homan, Team Wrana and Team Yoshimura. Last year, Team Homan took the title at the Co-op Canadian Open, earning their record-extending 15th Grand Slam title in an exciting extra-end match. They’re back this year to defend their championship and add to their legacy and are hot off a Pan Continental gold medal from last week. As a longtime Goldline-sponsored team, we’re thrilled to watch them take to the ice again as they aim to make Canada proud again.
